Keeping You Safe & Well
Gas Safety
If you have questions about your gas service or need to report a concern, please contact our repairs team right away. Your safety is non-negotiable – and we’re here to help.
Your Safety is Our Priority
At Teachers’ Housing Association, your safety comes first. By law, we’re required to carry out annual safety checks and servicing on all gas appliances, flues, and pipework that we own in your home.
Our Commitment to You
- All gas servicing, safety checks, and maintenance are carried out by a Gas Safe-registered engineer.
- We keep a full record of every service and provide you with a Gas Safety Certificate each year. New tenants receive this when moving in**.**
How We Organise Your Annual Gas Service
We know that staying in for appointments can be difficult to fit in around work and families so we aim to make this process as convenient as possible:
- We’ll write to you when your service is due, asking you to book a convenient time with your area gas engineer.
- If you don’t respond, we’ll send another reminder.
- If you still don’t arrange an appointment, we’ll set one for you and notify you in writing.
Please ensure you are at home at the arranged time. Missed appointments affect your safety and increase our service costs which will be passed onto you.
What If a Fault Is Found?
If any issues are discovered during the safety check, our Gas Safe-registered contractors will repair any faults in gas appliances, flues, pipework, or chimneys that we own.
Why Access to Your Home is Crucial
We are legally required to complete these checks every year. If we cannot gain access we may need to take legal action to enter your property to help ensure your safety and that of your neighbours.
