Sheltered Housing
The Anchorage, Christchurch, Dorset
About The Anchorage
The Anchorage, is a beautifully maintained residence set within private, landscaped grounds overlooking the sea in Mudeford. Originally built in 1892 as a summer home by George Hamilton Fletcher (notable yachtsman and maritime entrepreneur) the property was acquired by the Teachers’ Housing Association in 1974 and carefully modernised. It is a Grade II listed building located within a conservation area and benefits from a dedicated Scheme Manager.
The accommodation is arranged across three floors, with lift access, and centres around a peaceful lawned courtyard. Within the main house are seven flats and three maisonettes, while the purpose-built wing offers an additional eighteen self-contained, one-bedroom flats. All homes are let unfurnished and benefit from communal gas central heating and hot water.
